![]() It's not just fedora that is having a problem. While the problem is revealed in Firefox, the problem is evidently with Cairo which is what needs to be updated.Įither way, whether the fault is with cairo or firefox, both are separate packages from fedora, and fedora doesn't control what is updated and what isn't.Īnd I have seen this same problem discussed over on the debian and ubuntu forums as well. ![]() Unfortunately, it is easy and quite common to point the finger elsewhere and wait for someone else to resolve the problem without doing even the light research that I did within a couple of minutes. It seems to bear out that this is a problem not with Firefox but with a supporting library.Īnd the above thread seems to indicate that it is, indeed, cairo at fault. On the surface, it would seem that the problem is limited to Fedora 14 and firefox 3.6.12. The problem seems to be only with Fedora 14 and only this version of Firefox. Once again, if this were a firefox problem, it would be showing up everywhere. Googling for the problem seems to turn up no current issues with other distros that I can see either. This would seem to indicate that the problem is not entirely with firefox. However, in this thread, by going back to a previous version of cairo, at least one person was able to resolve the problem without changing the firefox code. Perhaps you are thinking of another thread. There doesn't appear to be a bugzilla link in this thread.
